Let’s come together to aid our local service workers.
While the CoronaVirus pandemic continues to negatively impact communities all across the country, the most recent hit stand to devastate thousands of members of our community.
On March 16th, Governor Eric Holcomb ordered the closure of all restaurants and bars for dine-in service. Muncie’s extensive service economy means that this decision will leave thousands of of our fellow citizens with no income for weeks or months.
Service employees, particularly tipped employees, are some of the most vulnerable workers in any city, often living paycheck-to-paycheck or even day-to-day. Here in Muncie, where the service industry makes up such a large part of our local economy, it is even more so.
Because of that, we have set up this site up as a resource to help connect loyal customers with the struggling workers that serve them.
Are you a service industry employee?
Registration is 100% free and easy. Once you are registered, you can also invite your co-workers to join. The more people that sign up and spread the word, the more successful this site will be.
Once your profile is created, you can share it on your various social media networks.
I am a customer. How can I help?
Browse the worker directory to find people you know (or even some you don’t) and see how they may need help. You can search by individual or business, and 100% of all contributions go directly to the workers.
For specific instructions on payment services, visit the How To Help page.
If you’d like to connect with workers, keep up-to-date with new developments, or just offer words of encouragement, you can register as a patron.
Want to get the latest without all of the corporate speak and social media noise? We have just the newsletter for you.
